Cortina d’Ampezzo · Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage
The territory
Càmina is 1 km from the town centre — a quarter of an hour on foot along the cycle-and-pedestrian path — yet already immersed in quiet. At reception you won't find brochures, but real advice: we have gathered here the six experiences we share every day with our guests — scroll through them like chapters, or jump straight to the one that calls you.
1 km
from the centre (15 min on foot)
120 km
of ski slopes
400 km
of marked trails
The first chairlift is yours
120 kilometres of slopes across Faloria, Tofane and Cinque Torri. The internal shuttle to Faloria and Freccia nel Cielo is included; other destinations are available for a fee. For those who do not ski: moonlit snowshoe walks and ice skating at the Olympic Stadium.
The Càmina tip
Ask us for the dawn basket the evening before: by 8:30 you're on the chairlift with breakfast in your backpack, and the still-empty slopes are all yours.
The trails start at the door
The Cinque Torri, the Sorapis, the Cadini di Misurina: 400 kilometres of marked trails, from family meadows to via ferrata for those who want the void beneath their feet. We'll prepare a map, a basket and the advice of those who have always walked these paths.
The Càmina tip
Set off early for the Cinque Torri: by 9 you're alone among the trenches of the Great War, and by midday already at the hut with the best table.
The emerald of the Dolomites
The Sorapis with its impossible blue, the Federa beneath the Croda da Lago, the Limides mirroring the Tofane at sunset. Each lake is a different walk — and each is worth every step.
The Càmina tip
The Limides at sunset is the best-kept secret: an hour's walk from the Falzarego Pass, and the Tofane glowing pink in the water.
Along the old railway
The Lunga Via delle Dolomiti follows the route of the old railway: gentle gradients, tunnels carved into the rock and vast panoramas all the way to Dobbiaco. For the fitter, the legendary passes of the Giro are all around here.
The Càmina tip
Rent e-bikes in the town and cycle towards Cimabanche: a gentle climb up, a downhill return, and halfway along the perfect kiosk for a snack.
From mountain huts to Michelin stars
Red casunziei, canederli, game — and then the gourmet mountain huts up high and the Michelin-starred restaurants of Ampezzo. In Cortina you eat well everywhere, but the right table at the right moment makes the difference: and that one we'll find for you.
The Càmina tip
Tell us what you like at breakfast in the morning: for dinner you'll have a table booked — be it a mountain lodge or a Michelin star.
The most elegant promenade in the Alps
Corso Italia is the drawing room of the Dolomites: historic shops, art galleries, the bell tower marking the hours. It is 1 km from the hotel: a quarter of an hour on foot along the cycle-and-pedestrian path behind the hotel, or five minutes by car — and on your return the quiet of Majon awaits you.
The Càmina tip
The best moment is the blue hour: the shop windows light up, the Tofane turn violet behind the bell tower, and the promenade is all there to watch.
When the larches change colour, Cortina’s woods glow gold, copper and amber. It is the season for quiet walks, crisp air and the Dolomites in the warmest light of the year.
Ask reception for the best trails and viewpoints to enjoy the autumn colours, then return to Càmina and the warmth of the fireplace.
